Highlights, India vs England 4th Test, Day 3 at Southampton

India vs England, 4th Test, Day 3: Hello and welcome to our live coverage of the fourth Test of the five-match series between India and England at The Rose Bowl, Southampton. India maintained upper hand after England skipper Joe Root was run-out for 48 as the home team reached 152 for 5 in their second innings at tea on the third day of the fourth Test. England now have an overall lead of 125 runs with Jos Buttler (22, 39 balls) and stodgy Ben Stokes (20, 79 balls) at the crease. This was after a well-set Root was back in the pavilion for 48 after Mohammed Shami's direct throw found him short of crease. Having removed Keaton Jennings (36) at the stroke of lunch, Mohammed Shami (2/40) was on a hat-trick when he removed Jonny Bairstow (0) off the very first ball post break. However Stokes and Root negotiated the Indian bowling well for the next 14 overs before the skipper didn't ground his bat properly while sprinting towards the striker's end. Stay tuned for live cricket action from India vs England 2018. (LIVE SCORECARD) (LIVE STREAMING)

Post that, skipper Joe Root and Ben Stokes have shored things up a bit and need to continue on. The pacers are doing the best they can, but Ravichandran Ashwin needs to do more. 16.22 IST: OUT! Ishant removes Moeen for 9 c Lokesh Rahul b Ishant Sharma The catch is clean according to the TV umpire and Moeen Ali is out of here. The move to send him up the order hasn't worked out. Lovely delivery from Ishant Sharma. Uses that round the wicket angle so well. Angles it in at first and then makes it go away. Moeen Ali has no choice but to put bat on ball as it's dangerously close to the off stump. The edge is drawn and it goes behind towards Rahul at second slip. He dives low to his right, takes it and celebrates. The umpire, however, isn't sure if the catch is clean and refers it upstairs. Replays roll in and they show that there's no problem, Rahul got his fingers underneath and Moeen is out of here. ENG 246 & 33/2 vs IND (273) at Southampton.

15.24 ISTPitch Report - Sanjay Manjrekar out in the middle reckons the rough areas have a new dimension. Feels that till now, Moeen Ali was more equipped to use them than Ravichandran Ashwin. Adds that even the pacers, like Jasprit Bumrah, can utilize this as he hits the deck outside off and makes it come back in, much like Ishant Sharma. States it's a decent batting track, but the bowlers will have something in it for them, both the seamers and spinners.

15.23 IST

15.20 IST: Hello and welcome, everyone, for what's going to be a gripping Test match. The first two days displayed some entertaining battles throughout and both teams put mounted a fight. The bowling has been good in the series so far, but with the addition of good batting performances, things are getting highly exciting. The top order of respective teams were rolled over, but the lower order showed good resistance and exceeded expectations. It was Sam Curran for England first with the bat, followed by Cheteshwar Pujara who scored his first ton in England.

Day 2 Highlights: Cheteshwar Pujara carved out one of his finest Test hundreds, a knock punctuated by a mix of trademark tenacity and grace, as India eked out a slender 27-run lead against England.

Owing to the 30-year-old's unbeaten 132, his first century outside the sub-continent since 2013, India recovered from a precarious 195 for eight to go past England and finish at 273 in their first innings.

Leading the five-match series 2-1 hosts England were all out for 246 in their first innings and finished the second day at six for no loss in their second innings to trail by 21 runs. (Read full story)
