Kuldeep Yadav reveals why he didn't get enough chances on England tour

Indian cricket team is famous for producing quality spinners for every format of the game and Kuldeep Yadav is one of the best wrist spinners of the current generation. Kuldeep was included in the Indian Test team for the first three matches against England as a trump card. Though he didn't get a chance in the first Test at Trent Bridge but the Chinaman was included in the Lord's Test.

Before the start of the match, the pitch report indicated that it would be a turning track. However, the weather had something different in the store as it totally favoured the fast bowlers. Kuldeep was playing alongside Ravichandran Ashwin as a specialist spinner but failed to have any impact on the game. Eventually, Kuldeep was dropped from the third Test and was also not picked for the remaining two Tests.

Kuldeep, however, didn't stop there and played for India A team in an unofficial Test match against the Australia A team.

Kuldeep has now revealed his chat with chief selector MSK Prasad and head coach Ravi Shastri before leaving England. "I spoke to (Chairman of Selectors) M.S.K. Prasad sir and India head coach Ravi (Shastri) sir before leaving England. They told me to play as much cricket as possible," Kuldeep was quoted as saying by The Hindu.

"The conditions in England were such that a team can play only one spinner. So opportunities for me were few. I’d rather play here, as sitting out of the Indian team does not really help me. These two unofficial Tests are very important for me, as I can build my red-ball experience. If I get into the rhythm for India-A, then I will be better prepared for the West Indies series," he added.

Kuldeep is included in the squad for the upcoming Asia Cup and will surely be a part of playing XI on the turning pitches of the UAE. After that, the 23-year-old will hope to make a comeback to the Test side against the West Indies, who will play two Tests against India starting October 4.

Kuldeep has become an integral part of India's limited-overs side but he is still struggling to find his place in the longest format of game. He has only played three Test matches till now in his career.
