IPL 2018, RR vs DD IPL Live Score

INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE (IPL) 2018 MATCH 6, RAJASTHAN ROYALS vs DELHI DAREDEVILS, DD vs RR Live Score IPL live score coverage of the match no.6 of Indian Premier League 2018 between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. A rain-hit affair which went on late into the night, but one which Rajasthan eventually managed to clinch. With a revised target of 71 to hunt down in 6 overs, Delhi had to get off to a blazing start. Pant provided that, but wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Too many dot balls were bowled too and as a result, the pressure kept building, the scoring rate kept rising and the task was too much. They succumbed to the occasion and the away team couldn't get over the line, despite all the power-hitters in the ranks. (CRICKET STREAMING - RR vs DD) (SCORECARD)

HIGHLIGHTS, RAJASTHAN ROYALS vs DELHI DAREDEVILS, IPL 2018, MATCH 6 FROM JAIPUR

00.40 IST: Sanju Samson is declared as the Man of the Match. His attacking knock in the first innings set the tone for his side's middle order to come and take advantage of, eventually resulting in posting a total which proved to be a winner.

00.35 IST:

00.32 IST: SIX! Maximum to finish the innings but that's not enough. RAJASTHAN WIN BY 10 RUNS (DLS Method)! Full ball on the stumps, Morris lifts it over mid on for a biggie. Rajasthan Royals (153/5) beat Delhi Daredevils (60/4) by 10 runs (DLS method) in Jaipur.

00.28 IST: FOUR! Fuller outside off, Morris lofts it over covers for a boundary.

00.26 IST: OUT! Another catch taken! Length ball on off, Shankar lofts it, with no timing at all. It's going towards mid on, where Ben Stokes takes a good catch.

00.26 IST: OUT! A good catch from Gowtham! Very good catch. Third wicket down in the form of Rishabh Pant. Fuller ball on leg, slightly slower in pace. Pant gets underneath it and swings. A lot of height, not much distance, and Gowtham comes running in from fine leg to take a fine catch diving forward. Delhi Daredevils 46/3 in 5 overs, need 25 to win vs Rajasthan Royals (DLS method)

00.24 IST: FOUR! Works with the angle as it's coming into him, Pant swings and gives it all he's got. May not be the best of connections, but it's enough to go across the fence on the bounce. DD 46/2 in 4.4 overs, need 25 runs to win vs RR

00.22 IST: FOUR!  Full delivery angling wide outside off, Morris walks a step across, uses the angle and carves it across the third man boundary. Smart batting. 30 needed off 10. DD 41/2 in 4.2 overs

Chris Morris is the new man in.

00.18 IST: OUT! Edged and taken! Glenn Maxwell departs! Ben Laughlin doing the trick for his side. It's the cutter once again, touch fuller on off, Maxwell makes room, comes down the track and attempts to go big downtown. Only manages an edge which is taken comfortably by Jos Buttler behind the stumps. 37 needed in 14 balls.  Delhi Daredevils 34/2 in 3.4 overs, need 37 to win vs Rajasthan Royals (DLS method)

00.13 IST: FOUR! Maxwell on the charge here! Wide outside off and full in length, this time Maxwell carves this away over point and sends it thrashing into the ad boards across the rope. 14 off the over. DD 29/1 in 3 overs, need 42 to win vs RR

00.12 IST: SIX! He connects well this time. Been trying to do that all over, finally manages to get it right. Full and wide outside off, angling away, Maxwell goes a step across, keeps his eyes locked on the ball and then with a massive swing of his bat, smokes it over the long on boundary. Maximum. DD 25/1 in 2.5 overs

00.11 IST: FOUR! Streaky runs but he'll take it! Full and wide outside off, Maxwell swings, connects, but off the edge. It's enough to take it over short third man and away to the fence. DD 19/1 in 2.4 overs

Jaydev Unadkat into the attack.

00.08 IST: Wonderful over from Dhawal Kulkarni. 5 off it. Only a  single off the final ball. Too full on off, Maxwell drills it towards extra cover and gets to the other end. DD 15/1 in 2 overs

Dhawal Kulkarni to bowl from the other end.

00.02 IST: FOUR! Poor line and he's paid the price for it. Flat ball, sliding in on leg, Pant pulls this nicely past short fine leg and finds the fence. DD 10/1 in 1 over

00.00 IST: FOUR! BANG! Pant wastes no time in scoring a boundary. Full and right in the slot, Pant charges out and hammers it straight back over the bowler's head to send it across the rope. DD 5/1 in 0.3 overs

23.57 IST: OUT! Munro is run out! Wicket off the very first ball! Absolute frenzy out there. Flat and quick on the pads, Maxwell looks to pull it away hard on the leg side but fails to connect. It goes off his pads on the leg side, Buttler runs to the ball as Munro is off for the run. The keeper turns and throws it quickly to Gowtham. He turns and takes the bails off. He knows he's got his man, but the umpire just wants to be sure. Replays show Munro is out of here. Delhi Daredevils 0/1 in 0.1 overs, need 71 to win vs Rajasthan Royals (DLS method)

23.56 IST:

23.55 IST: Ready for the chase to begin. Colin Munro and Glenn Maxwell will open the innings for the away side. Krishnappa Gowtham to take the new ball for the hosts. Here we go...

23.52 IST: So we have it! The revised target is of 71 with a 6-over game to happen. The advantage might be with Delhi. There will be 2 overs Powerplay, with 3 bowlers that can bowl 2 overs each. 10 wickets in hand, can they do it? Or will Rajasthan be able to hold them off somehow?

23.51 IST:

23.47 IST: GOOD NEWS -

23.45 IST: Match will resume by 11:55 PM says the giant screen!

23.25 IST: It looks better now but the covers are still on. The cut-off time is 00.02 IST. If the game isn't resumed by then, the match will be called off.

23.15 IST: UPDATE -

23.10 IST: We have passed yet another inspection deadline. The rain continues to be stubborn and pour. Along with the crowd noise, we can also hear it thundering.

22.56 IST: Remember those days? Well if you are still playing then it is not those days but for people like me who rely mostly on childhood memories, it is a bit of a nostalgia. The music starts, then we run around, eagerly anticipating when the music will stop so that we can sit on a chair. Seems more or less here right now. The music has stopped and the rain is back. Continue whatever you are doing...

22.45 IST:

22.41 IST: Like it has done previously, the rain keeps playing games with us. It has stopped for now. The covers, though are still on. While the umpires are out in the middle having a chat, the players enjoy a game of football at the sidelines. The next inspection now will be at 2300 IST.

22.32 IST:

22.30 IST: HEY! HEY! Get the covers back on, mate! No, I have not gone bonkers. But just writing what I just saw as a groundstaff was furiously shouting to his partner. It was a nice scenic view first up. The ground was buzzing. Two ex-Aussie mates - Warne and Ponting were chatting and smiling. Then more Aussie guys got together giving us the festive atmosphere as it usually is in Melbourne or Sydney. The umpires were then walking across the ground, not quite happy with the amount of wetness on the field. And then suddenly - WHOOOOOOOSH!!!! From nowhere, the heavens opened up again and the covers were called for. Sigh... forget the inspection for now. Lodge an FIR against the rain, can we?

22.20 IST:

22.18 IST: The rain has started to ease and the covers are slowly coming off. We hope it stays like this. For now, the news is that the inspection will be at 22.40 IST.

22.10 IST:  Mumbai Indians most successful IPL franchise, meet the past 10 champions

22.08 IST: Rain is still pretty heavy down at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, but the Rajasthan Royals fans have not left their seat just yet.

21.41 IST:

21.40 IST: Scratch that last update. THE RAIN IS BACK. Just as the groundstaff was taking the covers off the field, it starts pouring down again. It's coming down quite hard too.

21.35 IST - THE RAIN HAS STOPPED. That was quick. The covers are already coming off. This is good news. Play should begin any time now...

21.32 IST:

21.30 IST: Well, this is something unexpected. The skies were clear before the game and everything looked fine for a good game to progress. But, we have been made to think twice by the rain gods. Let us give you a quick recap of what's gone down so far - Rajasthan, after being made to bat, lost D'Arcy Short early. Ben Stokes was sent up the order, but that plan failed as the English all-rounder was dismissed rather early. Sanju Samson joined forces with his skipper and stroked a 62-run stand. Then Jos Buttler and Rahul Tripathi continued the brisk scoring before eventually, the rain intervened and brought everything to a halt. We can only hope it's a passing shower. Have one hour before we start losing overs. Let's hope for the best.

21.25 IST: There's a slight drizzle to be seen. And would you look at that? The covers are on in no time. The speed has picked up and it's coming down rather heavily now. Unreal. Happened so quickly and out of nowhere. PLAY HAS BEEN SUSPENDED for the time being. RR 153/5 in 17.5 overs vs DD

Krishnappa Gowtham walks in next to bat.

21.22 IST: OUT! Shami removes Jos Buttler for 29. Rajasthan Royals 150/5 in 17.4 overs vs Delhi Daredevils

21.19 IST: FOUR! RR 150/4 in 17.1 overs

21.15 IST: SIX! Morris pitches this up full in line of the stumps, Buttler hits this towards long on. Maxwell gets behind the ball and tries to flick this inside the rope as he knew he would hold onto it. He does that before collecting the ball and it bounces over the ropes. RR 139/4 in 16.3 overs

21.14 IST: SIX! Length ball on off, Tripathi lofts this high over mid-wicket. Boult the man on the rope, takes the catch but his followthrough takes him over the fence. Good effort though. RR 132/4 in 16.1 overs

21.10 IST:

21.09 IST: Another superb yorker! Buttler hits this along the turf for just one. End of a good over by Shami, just 4 runs from it. RR 117/4 in 15 overs

21.04 IST:

Rahul Tripathi is the new man in.

21.00 IST: OUT! Rahane becomes the highest run-getter against Delhi and departs. Short ball from Nadeem on middle and leg, Rahane looks to heave this over mid-wicket. He gets a leading edge towards covers and Chris Morris takes an easy catch. The skipper falls trying to up the scoring.. Rajasthan Royals 112/4 in 13.4 overs vs Delhi Daredevils

20.57 IST: Another feather in the cap of Delhi captain -

20.56 IST: FOUR! In the air..and a brilliant effort from Boult in the deep. Shami digs this in short outside off, Rahane pulls and gets it from the lower end of the bat. The ball goes over mid-wicket and just past a diving Boult for a boundary. RR 107/3 in 12.2 overs

20.55 IST: FOUR! A boundary to begin the over. Short ball outside off, Rahane cross bats this towards extra over. The ball crosses the ropes in no time. RR 103/3 in 12.1 overs

20.52 IST: FOUR! Great improvisation from Buttler. Flatter ball on off, Jos gets in position and reverse sweeps this past backward point for a boundary. Knew exactly where the fielders were. RR 97/3 in 11.3 overs

Jos Butler is the new man in.

20.51 IST:

20.49 IST: OUT! A soft dismissal and a disappointed Samson has to take the long walk back. A flatter ball around off, Samson goes on one knee and looks to swipe this to the leg side. He gets a bottom edge to it onto his back leg and the ball goes on to hit the off pole. An unlucky dismissal but Nadeem will take it any day.  Rajasthan Royals 90/3 in 11 overs vs Delhi Daredevils

20.46 IST: Tewatia tosses this one up on off, Rahane uses his feet and drags this to long on for a run. RR 84/2 in 10 overs

20.45 IST:

20.44 IST: FOUR! RR 82/2 in 9.3 overs

The first strategic break of the match has been taken. Rajasthan have lost two wickets but are going at a good pace.

20.40 IST: FOUR! Showing his class. Slower ball around off, Samson waits for it and cuts it to the third man region where there is no fielder. The ball rolls away to the fence. RR 77/2 in 9 overs

20.37 IST: SIX! Too short for a man in form and Samson rightly punishes this. Short outside off, Sanju rocks back and pulls this over mid-wicket for half a dozen. RR 68/2 in 8.1 overs

20.36 IST: Tidy over from Tewatia! Samson finds the gap this time and will get one through square leg. RR 62/2 in 8 overs

Rahul Tewatia to roll his arm now.

20.33 IST: Effort ball from Shami, Rahane pulls this through mid-wicket and picks up an easy run. 6 runs from the over. RR 58/2 in 7 overs

20.29 IST: FOUR! Short ball around off, Rahane didn't look to hit this hard and pierces the gap to perfection past square leg for a boundary. RR 55/2 in 6.1 overs

Mohammed Shami is introduced into the attack.

20.28 IST: Rahane plays it with an angled bat and guides it to third man. The batsmen have run through for a single, 8 runs from the over. RR 51/2 in 6 overs

20.23 IST: FOUR! Another short ball on middle, Rahane pulls this front of square this time to end the over. 15 runs and a wicket from it. RR 43/2 in 5 overs

20.21 IST: SIX! Follows the boundary with a maximum. Boult digs this one short, Sanju pulls this high and handsome over square leg. RR 38/2 in 4.4 overs

20.20 IST: FOUR! Full of confidence is Samson. Just needed one ball for a sighter and now has driven this fuller ball in the gap of cover-point to the fence. RR 32/2 in 4.3 overs

20.19 IST:

Sanju Samson joins his skipper in the middle.

20.18 IST: OUT! What a peach of a delivery from Boult. Forced Stokes to play at it and gets a thick outside edge. Trent lands this on a good length around off, it shapes and moves away a bit after pitching. Stokes closes the bat face a bit early and gets a thick outside edge to it. The ball flies to Pant who moves to this left and takes the catch. Promotion for Stokes doesn't work for Rajasthan.Rajasthan Royals 28/2 in 4.1 overs vs Delhi Daredevils

Trent Boult gets a change of ends.

20.11 IST: FOUR! Cracked! Length ball outside off, Stokes clears his front leg and smashes this in the gap through mid-wicket. RR 18/1 in 2.3 overs

20.08 IST: Quick Stat - This is the 6th game of the IPL 2018 and it's the 6th time the captain winning the toss has elected to field. And, all the game won so far have been by the teams chasing. Will the same pattern be followed tonight?

Ben Stokes has been promoted up the order.

20.07 IST:

20.06 IST: OUT! Another run-out for D Arcy Short in back-to-back games. Not the start he would have liked in this league. Nadeem gives this air on middle, Short works it with soft hands towards mid-wicket. They take the first run quickly and then Rahane wanted the second run badly. D'Arcy was hesitant about it and a direct hit from Shankar in that area meant that Short was well short of his crease. An early wicket for Delhi! Rajasthan Royals 11/1 in 1.2 overs vs Delhi Daredevils

20.05 IST: FOUR! Short and wide, Short stays back and punches this in the gap through cover-point for the first boundary. RR 10/0 in 1.1 overs

Both Rajasthan and Delhi were outplayed in their opening games and will be itching to bounce back. Daredevils were severely hit by KLRahul's fastest fifty against Kings XI Punjab, losing in Mohali by six wickets.

Royals, on the other hand, could never cope with the bowling might of Sunrisers Hyderabad and went down by nine wickets in Hyderabad on Monday. It was a rather forgettable opening for the hosts who are making a comeback in the tournament after serving a two-year suspension. (Read Full Match Preview)
