India vs England: Sachin Tendulkar lauds Team India's intent at Trent Bridge, wants Rishabh Pant to set the platform

Former Indian players Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly are totally impressed with Rishabh Pant skills.

Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar lauded Indian batsmen their performance on the first day of the ongoing third Test match against England at Trent Bridge. Tendulkar loved the intent shown by the Indian batsmen as they overcame a string of poor performances at Edgbaston and Lord's. The Little Master also applauded the front foot defence of the Indian batsmen against the fierce English bowlers who had made life hell for the Indian batsmen in first two Test matches of the series.

"What I liked in this innings was the intent shown by our batsmen and the front foot defense against the English pacers was solid. Wonderful partnership by @imVkohli and @ajinkyarahane88. @RishabPant777 should continue being positive and set the platform," Tendulkar posted on Twitter.

Meanwhile Tendulkar's old teammate and former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly was also totally mesmerized by Pant's skills on day one. Ganguly hailed the youngster's technique and is hopefull that he will score big runs at Trent Bridge. 

"Rishabh pant excites me ..I hope he scores a big one ..has so much time and uncomplicated technique ..good luck," Ganguly tweeted.

Finally provided with a platform by their opening batsmen, India's middle order took advantage against England on Saturday.

Captain Virat Kohli (97) and Ajinkya Rahane (81) put on 159 for the fourth wicket to help India to 307-6 in the first innings at stumps on the first day of third Test.

The groundwork at Trent Bridge was laid by Lokesh Rahul (23) and the recalled Shikhar Dhawan (35), who saw off the new ball with an opening stand of 60.
