Gautam Gambhir turns 37 today.

Indian cricketer and former opener Gautam Gambhir turned 37 today. Widely considered as one of the best players India has ever produced, the left-hander has been part of some of India's memorable wins in the last decade or so. Be it the 97 in the World Cup 2011 final or his seminal role in India's successful World T20 campaign in 2007, Gambhir has always shown the tendency to lead from the front.

Currently out of reckoning of the national team due to slowing reflexes and loss of form, the Delhi stalwart is still a regular in domestic cricket, plying his trade for his home side in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. He last played for India almost two years ago during England's tour of the country but failed to consolidate his position in the team.

The southpaw accumulated 4154 runs at an impressive average of 41.95 in the 58 Tests he played for India. While in 147 ODIs he has amassed 5238 runs at the rate of 39.68 runs per innings. He also played 37 T20Is for the country hitting 932 runs at a strike-rate of 119.02.

Given the tremendous contribution of the batsman towards Indian cricket, wishes haven't stopped pouring in on the occasion for Gambhir. We look at some of the tributes below:
