Late Nitin Ivalekar

Lotus Business Park, a multistoried building in Andheri caught fire. Nitin Ivalekar, a fireman, entered the building to help the people who were trapped inside. He lost his life while helping the people get out of there. In his attempt, he was able to rescue thirty people and arranged for them to get out of the burning building.

Payal Senani

Payal Senani saved lives of 4 kids, when their house caught fire. She daringly entered the burning house to help anyone who might be caught inside. When she was looking for people inside, she found four little girl kids who were aged 6 months, 2 years, 5 years and 7 years . She rescued each of them and carried them out of the house on her shoulders.

Gunjan Sharma

Gunjan Sharma saved her 10 schoolmates from getting kidnapped when she bravely stood up to the kidnapper and asked him to kidnap her and leave the rest. The kidnapper agreed to this and abducted her. After spending 14 hours in the dense forest she finally got a chance to escape and she came back running to her home.

Late Aryan Kumar Shukla

Late Aryan went for an outing on the banks of river Saryu with his friends. When he saw his friends drowning in the river, he did not waste even a single second and jumped inside the water to save them, despite of the fact that he did not know how to swim. He successfully saved his friends by pushing them towards the shallow part but could not help himself out, and drowned.

Rosy Ara

12 year old Rosy Ara Saved 5 children from drowning in a pond. When she noticed them desperately striving for help, she did not waste any time and jumped inside. She swam across and helped 5 kids to get out. She kept on trying to save each of them but after saving 5, she fainted and could not help the last kid. All of them were immediately rushed to a medical facility.

Fatima Khatun

Despite of being married at the age of 9 and into a family who was involved in human trafficking, Fatima not only succeeded in getting herself out but is also helping others to do the same. She now helps run Kasturba Gandhi Girls Hostel in Araria funded by the Bihar government as part of their 'Education for all' programme.

Sakshi Vidhyarthi

Sakshi Vidhyarthi

A 15 year old brave girl Sakshi Vidyarthi didn’t give up to the power of a police official and filed a case against him for molesting her. She has recently won the case against Amarjeet Singh Shahi, a DSP. He was awarded 10 year of Rigorous Imprisonment for abducting and raping a minor girl. The SC/ST Act court also imposed a fine of Rs 65,000 on the officer.

Aadesh Kumar SC Sea I CD

Aadesh Kumar was part of a joint operation which was launched by a team of 9 Para SF, 27 RR and MARCOS to neutralize the militants. Aadesh Kumar Sea I CD III displayed professional acumen, comradeship and raw courage in fighting the terrorists in during the operation.

On 23rd August when arms and ammunitions were being carried to the battalion headquarters, one of the vehicles came under a severe blast and the rest were under simultaneous firing by Maoists. Sunil Kumar fearlessly, from the midst of heavy firing rescued all who were in the vehicle that came under the blast.

On 23rd August when arms and ammunitions were being carried to the battalion headquarters, one of the vehicles came under a severe blast and simultaneous firing by Maoists. Inspector Godbole, got hit by a bullet but he refused to go to the hospital and lead his team to safety.

Late LT CDR Manoranjan kumar

When a compartment in one of the submarines of the Indian Navy, Sindhuratna caught fire, Late Lt Cdr Manoranjan kumar did everything in his capacity and beyond to make sure that the fire is contained in the effected compartment. He managed to do what he was determined to and made the supreme sacrifice in the process.

On 25 Apr 2014, Sepoy Vikram was the combat companion of Major Mukund Vardarajan, who was the Company Commander during the search operation in Village Qazipathri. Sepoy Vikram assisted Major Mukund Vardarajan in the preparation and placing of charges in the target house. His raw courage under constant fire and swift action led to the elimination of three top ranked Hizbul Mujaheddin terrorists. Sepoy Vikram made the supreme sacrifice for the country.

Nathu Singh Uttam Adhikari (QA)

Nathu Singh, who is an Uttam Adhikari in the Indian Coast Guard, saved more than 100 lives with his undaunted courage and perseverance. Refugees who were trying to escape the country got stuck in fierce waves of the ocean, when Nathu Singh came to the rescue and helped all of them to get on the Coast Guard ship and thus they were all saved.

Riffat Abdullah

Riffat Abdullah

Riffat Abdullah was stuck in his Rajbagh house when flood waters entered Srinagar after breaching Jhelum's embankment. When he realized the danger, he immediately went inside the flood water and got a boat with which he and a few others began rescuing people risking their own lives on September 7. They saved hundreds of people with Abdullah saying he himself must have taken around 300 people to safety.
