Vijender Gupta

Vijender Gupta is the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and the present Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Legislative Assembly. Earlier, he was the Leader of Opposition from 2015 to 2020. Gupta contested the 2009 Lok Sabha Election from Chandni Chowk against Congress leader Kapil Sibal but lost by over 2 lakh votes. In the 2013 Delhi Assembly polls, Gupta was fielded by the BJP against Sheila Dikshit and Arvind Kejriwal in New Delhi but stood third with 21.68% of the votes. He won the Rohini Assembly constituency in the 2015 Delhi Assembly Election by defeating Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Advocate CL Gupta by 5,367 votes. Gupta retained the seat in 2020 by defeating AAP's Rajesh Nama Bansiwala with a margin of 12,648 votes. Gupta is again contesting from Rohini in the upcoming Delhi Assembly Election 2025.
