Bangladesh have suffered a major setback in the form of an injury to their star wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim. Rahim has fractured his right thumb and will miss the Test series against the Lankan Lions.

Mushfiqur Rahim finished the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka as the second-leading run-scorer for Bangladesh behind skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto. Rahim scored 135 runs at an average of 135 and a strike rate measuring 91.21.
