Bhubaneswar, Oct 24: Asserting that his government stood for clean administration, Orissa Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today adopted a ‘wait and watch' approach towards BJP stalwart L K Advani's Jan Chetna Yatra against corruption.
“As you know our government and the BJD always fought against corruption,” Patnaik told reporters, asserting that honest and clean administration was the motto of his government.
On Advani's yatra, the BJD president said, “Let us see what impact it will have in curbing corruption.” BJD was once BJP's ally both at the Centre and the state till 2009 when Patnaik snapped ties with BJP and successfully fought the assembly election alone.
Congress, on the other hand, was sceptical about Advani's journey against corruption.
“Advaniji should analyse the happenings during the BJP-led NDA rule,” Leader of Opposition in Orissa assembly Bhupinder Singh said. Several financial irregularities and corruption also took place during the NDA government, he alleged.
Another senior Congress leader said the yatra undertaken by Advani was aimed at “misleading” people.
