No one can dispute that government brought good schemes for the welfare of the people, he claimed naming some of them and stressing that all would agree that they are good decisions.

Akhilesh said that all respect the mandate, the decision of the public and now concrete steps would be taken to take the state on the path of development.

To a question on whether he would go to meet Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi whose party has got a massive mandate, Akhilesh said ties between the state and the Centre would be as per the federal structure.  

Ostensibly remarking on Modi's promise to clean Ganga, Akhilesh said he would see how it would be done in the next five years, adding there are other rivers too like Yamuna, Betwa, Ken and Chambal, and they too need to be cleaned.  The chief minister who has been authorised by his Cabinet to convene the Budget Session of the Vidhan Sabha said that dates for the same would be decided soon.
