New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today praised those parties which are trying to break the logjam in Parliament.
He specifically hailed Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav for his efforts to end the two-week long deadlock.
"PM praised all those political parties who felt that the pace of nation's development needs to be increased," Minister of State for Parliamentary affairs Rajiv Pratap Rudy said.
"Some people misusing Parliament to stop the pace of country's growth," Modi said at the BJP Parliamentary Party meet.
On Monday, Mulayam Singh broke ranks with the opposition telling Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to 'break the logjam... call us all for talks and all this will stop'.
Speaker also had a meeting with opposition leaders in her chamber where Mulayam said a discussion in the House was necessary to at least understand what the Congress was protesting about.
The Congress has been disrupting the functioning of Parliament over their demand of removal of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje for allegedly helping former IPL chief Lalit Modi.
Meanwhile, the BJP has issued a whip to its members asking them to be present in both Houses of Parliament today and tomorrow.
