New York: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi leads the TIME Person of The Year poll with a huge 16.2 pc lead.

The readers' choice poll  ended Dec 6 at midnight and the poll's winner will be announced today (Dec 8).

Ferguson Protestors came second with 9.2 pc, Hong Kong pro-democracy leader Joshua Wong with 7 pc, Pakistan's Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai with 4.9 pc and Ebola Doctors and Nurses 4.5 per cent.

The announcement of TIME Person of The Year will be made by the magazine's managing editor Nancy Gibbs on NBC's Today Show on December 10, coinciding with the news being shared on the magazine's Twitter feed and Facebook page.

The magazine has been named Person Of The Year for the past nine decades. The title is bestowed on those who have, for good or for ill, most influenced the news and our lives in the past year.

The ultimate choice, however, is made by TIME's editors, taking into view readers' choice.
