Patna: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bihar to campaign for BJP candidates during the assembly polls later this year if his services were required, senior party leader Kalraj Mishra said on Sunday.

"Be it Modi, or any other top BJP leaders, they will be asked to campaign for BJP candidates during the Bihar polls", he said in reply to questions by mediapersons on the Gujarat Chief Minister's visit for electioneering.  Mishra cited the Centre's appreciation of the performance of the BJP government's in Gujarat, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh towards the welfare of the minorities to drive home his party's secular credentials.

The BJP leader, who is here to prepare the groundwork for the election preparedness of his party, forecast a strong electoral performance by the ruling NDA for a second-term in power to make Bihar a developed state in the next five years.

The Nitish Kumar-led NDA government has performed creditably on all fronts in spite of the 'step motherly' treatment meted out by the centre which did not grant a special status to it nor extended all help to tackle the calamities, like drought and flood. PTI
