New Delhi: The Congress' woman wing, Mahila Congress today protested at Jantar Mantar against the Narendra Modi government on a range of issues including "price rise, corruption, inflation, crime against women"
The angry protestors climbed over the police barricade and pushed it off.
"If Modi ji thinks he can stifle the voices of women then he is wrong", said Congress leader Shobha Oza. Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh who was also present at the protest venue, criticized the government on the Land Acquisition Bill.
"They want to bring the Land Bill then they need to do away with the ordinance and then go into the Lok Sabha again"? he said.
Earlier in the day, The Rajya Sabha witnessed three adjournments as the Opposition Congress continued to insist on the resignation of the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj for her alleged involvement in helping Lalit Modi.
