Senior BJP leader L K Advani on Monday confided that Lord Ram has a special place in his life and that he dreams of a "Ram Rajya" in the country with a Ram temple.
"In my long political career spanning since Independence, if there was anyone who held a special place in my life it was Lord Ram," he said at a book release function here.
"I have even conducted two yatras in His name. While one was from Somnath to Ayodhya and the other was for good governance and for swarajya," he said.
Advani said the resolve of his party for a Ram Mandir stemmed from the fact that its establishment can only led to the construction of "Rahstriya Mandir" and that of a "Ram Rajya".
"When someone asked Mahatma Gandhi what Swarajya meant for him, he said it meant Ramrajya," Advani said recalling Gandhi's dream of a country where the rights of the people is established.
The book release function 'Management Guru-Bhagwan Sri Ram' was attended by the President of Mauritius apart from Advani. PTI
