Mumbai: Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad was Monday admitted to a hospital here for a routine check-up. A doctor said there was "nothing to worry".
"It was a scheduled check-up and there is nothing to worry. After all his reports are received later today (Monday), his family will decide future course of action," said an official of the Asian Heart Institute (AHI).
He is currently under the supervision of AHI chief and renowned heart surgeon Ramakanta Panda.
Today is an important day for Lalu and results will be out for 10 assembly seats that went to by-polls on August 21. According to initial trends, both BJP and ‘Lalu-Nitish' combine are leading in 5 seats each in the state.
A spokesperson of the hospital said, "We confirm that Lalu Prasad Yadav is admitted to Asian Heart Institute for a detailed health evaluation."
"This is a planned visit. With the family's permission, we will keep you posted on further developments," the spokesperson added.
