New Delhi, Oct 29: Sunday's cabinet reshuffle has shocked not only those Congress leaders who have been divested of supposedly plum portfolios but it has raised the hackles of activist-turned-politician Arvind Kejriwal as well.
Kejriwal has raised questions over promotion of Salman Khurshid whose NGO is facing serious charges of misappropriation of funds meant for disabled persons.
"The government is conveying a message that corrupt people will be rewarded," said Kejriwal, who has been demanding Khurshid's immediate removal from the council of ministers.
Kejriwal plans to hold a rally in Farrukhabad on Thursday to highlight graft charges against Salman Khurshid, his wife Louise Fernandes and their NGO.
Kejriwal has also questioned the demotion of veteran Congress leader S Jaipal Reddy who has been shifted from Petroleum Ministry to Ministry of Science and Technology.
"Jaipal Rddy is considered to be an honest man and was removed," Mr Kejriwal said.
Attributing motives to Jaipal Reddy's transfer, Kejriwal linked it with Reddy's refusal to allow deals loaded heavily in favour of Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries for the D6 gas fields in the Krishna Godavari (KG) basin off India's east coast.
Raising questions over promotions of younger leaders like Jyotiraditya Scindia and Sachin Pilot, Kejriwal asked, “Is being young their only qualification? What work have they done so far in their ministries?"
Kejriwal also blasted Rahul Gandhi for enjoying power without accountability.
“Rahul Gandhi is enjoying power without responsibility," remarked Kejriwal.
