New Delhi, Jul 24: The Shiv Sena on Monday sought to drive a wedge between the sulking NCP and the Congress by asking Sharad Pawar's party to come out of the government at the Centre if it feels “humiliated” by the ruling party.
“If the NCP feels that it is being humiliated by the Congress, it should come out. It is not proper to suffer humiliation,” Sena spokesman Sanjay Raut said.
Shiv Sena-BJP combine is the Opposition alliance in Maharashtra which has been out of power since 1999 when Congress and NCP joined hands to form the government in the state.
Congress and NCP had joined hands just months after Pawar parted ways with Congress on the issue of Sonia Gandhi's foreign origin.
