Amritsar:  BJP president Amit Shah on Saturday said his party had a long way ahead and urged party workers to be prepared for the challenge.

Addressing Bharatiya Janata Party workers in this Sikh holy city, Shah said the BJP could not stop at its recent achievement of enrolling over 10 crore members to become the biggest political organisation in the world.

"The BJP has a long way to go ahead. Our workers will have to take the party to every corner of the country," Shah, sporting a saffron turban, said.

He said the BJP government at the centre led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been able to bring about a lot of change.

"Prime Minister Modi's visits to other countries have helped improve India's image," he said.

Referring to Punjab, where the BJP has been running an alliance government with the Shiromani Akali Dal since 2007, Shah urged party workers to spread out to every corner of the state to make people aware about the rampant drugs problem in the state.

Without pointing out to the difficulties in the Akali Dal-BJP alliance in Punjab, Shah said: "I know the pain that you (Punjab BJP) have in your hearts. You should not bother about it. You have to take the BJP's lotus to every house (in Punjab). All pains will then get treated."

Shah challenged the Congress to prove any of the allegations against the central government, including the one about favouring corporates.

"The biggest scams have taken place under Congress rule," he said.

Shah said the land acquired from farmers will not be given to any corporate house and farmers will be given full value for the acquired land.
