Patna: Taking a cue from the series of rallies held by Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, BJP today launched over a fortnight-long campaign programme during which it would hold 27,000 rallies across Bihar to gear up for the Assembly polls next year.

The programme ‘Bihar Bachao, Bihar Banao' was launched by senior BJP leader Sushil Modi at Hajipur today and would continue till October 15.

During the programme, rallies would be held in different parts of the state except during Dusshera.  “A total 27,000 rallies will be organised at various levels during the period.

There will be at least 3 rallies in each panchayats and wards in urban areas,” Modi told PTI over phone from Hajipur.

The BJP rallies would expose the “unholy” alliance between JD(U), RJD and Congress and tell the people about “the all-round failures of Jitan Ram Manjhi government” in the state, he said.

Leader of Opposition Nand Kishore Yadav, who will launch the campaign from Kudni block in Muzaffarpur during the day, said it would be ‘seedha samvad' (direct conversation) with the people at the grassroots.

He will address four rallies, two each in Muzaffarpur and Vaishali districts today.

State party president Mangal Pandey will address the rally at Purnea while BJP MPs Ramkripal Yadav and Janardan Singh Sigriwal will do so at Nalanda and Siwan respectively.

Union ministers Radhamohan Singh, Ravishankar Prasad, minister of state Dharmendra Pradhan, who is also in-charge of Bihar, would join the campaign later.

A leaflet saying ‘JD(U), RJD and Congress alliance is unholy and heralds jungle raj II' is being distributed among the people during the campaign.

The leaflet highlights rise in crime graph, terror attacks, Maoists attack, scam in government schemes and flood management and the alleged ills in the Jitan Ram Manjhi rule.
