In the rapidly unfolding political drama involving Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, his security personnel manhandled a video journalist outside the Secretariat building here where scribes were waiting for the Deputy CM to speak on the corruption allegations levelled against him.

As soon as Yadav stepped out of the Secretariat building after attending state Cabinet meeting, journalists waiting here rushed to ask him some questions. But Yadav’s security officials stopped them and pushed them back. They even thrashed a cameraman. The entire drama took place in front of the Deputy CM who is facing CBI and ED’s heat after his name got mired in corruption cases.

Few days ago, Yadav had during a press conference here asked a journalist to leave the room and had even called him ‘anti-national’.

Yadav had arrived at the Secretariat to attended the Cabinet meeting called by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Yadav, who was accompanied by his elder brother Tej Pratap, had earlier today termed the corruption charges levelled against him as a conspiracy hatched by the BJP government.

He had also targeted a section of the media for being hand-in-glove with the BJP. “They are bringing up cases of 2004 against me. How could I be a criminal at 13 or 14, I didn't even have a 'mooch' then! How can a kid of that age do all these things they are saying?” he said.

Yadav, his father and RJD president Lalu Prasad and mother Rabri Devi, figured in the CBI FIR in the case related to three acres of land given to the family by a private party in return for licence given for hotels of IRCTC at Ranchi and Puri in 2006 when Lalu Prasad was Railways minister.

The development comes a day after the Janata Dal (United) asked RJD to ‘place facts before the public to dispel graft charges’ within  four days. However, the RJD has made it clear that the party was with Yadav and there was no question of him stepping down.
