In a shocking incident, a Congress legislator hurled a shoe at the Punjab Revene Minister Bikram Singh Majithia inside the state Assembly today.
Tarlochan Sund, the Congress MLA, threw a shoe at Majithia when the Congress MLAs were asking Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal to agree for a debate in the house over the problems in Punjab.
The Assembly passed 12 bills even as the chaos continued in the house.
The Speaker Charanjit Atwal suspended both zero hour and question hour following ruckus in the house.
Atwal asked the protesting legislators to go back to their seats so that the house could function smoothly.
However, the Congress MLAs refused to pay any heed to him and the speaker adjourned the house for 15 minutes.
