Uttar Pradesh Samajwadi Party chief Shivpal Yadav on Thursday met Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav with an invitation to party's jubilee celebrations scheduled on November 5, a day after the CM wrote to SP supremeo Mulayam Singh Yadav informing him of his decision to embark on the 'Samajwadi Vikas Rath Yatra' from November 3.

In his letter to father, Akhilesh announced that he would go ahead with the ‘Rath Yatra' despite the scheduled party event on November 5.

The yatra was earlier scheduled to begin from November 03, 2016. However, it was postponed in view of the celebrations.

It is still not clear whether Akhilesh would boycott the silver jubilee celebrations of Samajwadi Party scheduled to be held on November 5 in Lucknow.

Akhilesh Yadav’s letter comes amid reports of senior party leaders and Yadav family members trying to broker peace between the warring father and son.

Yesterday, Mulayam invited both his brother and son at his residence in Lucknow to discuss the ongoing feud.

Meanwhile, Shivpal Yadav today said that there was no infighting in the family and the party.

“There is no infighting. We all are together. We will all campaign together,” Shivpal said when asked about Akhilesh’s ‘Rath Yatra’.
