Kozhikode: BJP-led NDA is the sole option for people of Kerala in the May 16 Assembly polls as ruling UDF and opposition LDF who are busy "playing blame games" have "failed" them on many fronts during their successive rule, Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu said here today.

"Kerala is facing unemploymentand lack of infrastructure. No new industrial units have been set up because of successive rules of both fronts. In their campaigns, UDF says LDF is bad and LDF says UDF is worse. If both fronts keep playing blame game, how can they provide good governance?" he said at a press conference.

"The only and real alternative for people of Kerala is BJP-led NDA as both UDF and LDF have failed them in many fronts during successive rules. People should discard political opportunism and give us a chance," Prabhu said.

On the unemployment issue, he felt sorry that people of Kerala had to leave for other stages or migrate abroad in search of jobs. This only showed the 'failure' of successive governments to provide employment to its people.

"However, wherever they go, Keralites are making their contributions to theirmotherland. Wherever they work they remit money in the form of savings," he added.

Prabhu termed the charges by those rescued from Libya that the Centre had done nothing to help them as "politically motivated".

"Our External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had already denied it. Indians living abroad are our brethren. They are being taken care of like resident Indians," he added.
