In yet another incident of moral policing, a group of Shiv Sena activists wielding canes allegedly threatened and manhandled couples sitting at Kochi’s Marine Drive on Wednesday evening.
The video of the incident, that has gone viral on social media, shows alleged Shiv Sena activists threatening and chasing away couples.
The activists were seen in the video marching with banners that read 'Stop crime against girls' and ‘love under umbrellas must be stopped’.
Incidentally, the entire incident took place on Women’s Day in the presence of policemen.
Six men belonging to Shiv Sena were reportedly arrested under non-bailable offences in this case.
According to some media reports, the group had not taken permission to hold the protest at Marine Drive on Wednesday.
