Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday attacked the Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samajwadi Party, saying both the parties facing hardship because of Central government’s note ban move.
Modi was addressing a Parivartan Rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich via phone call after his helicopter was unable to land due to foggy weather.
PM Modi further said that for Uttar Pradesh to progress, poverty and 'goonda raj' needs to be removed.
It is now interesting to see how Akhiles Yadav and Mayawati would react on PM Modi’s this statement.
Highlights:
This was the fifth Parivartan Rally that the PM Modi was addressing in election-bound Uttar Pradesh. Modi has already addressed election rallies at Ghazipur, Agra, Kushinagar and Moradabad.
Also, this was the third time that PM Modi was be addressing a public rally in Bahraich since 2001, when he first visited the district as BJP general secretary.
In November 2013, Modi addressed a public rally in Baraich as BJP's prime ministerial candidate for the Lok Sabha polls.
Uttar Pradesh will go to the assembly elections early next year.
Narendra Modi on November 8 announced spiking of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes to curb "black money and corruption". The spiking of the high value notes has led to a cash crunch across the country.
