Ovleno Business Intelligence (OBI) director Amrish Tyagi on Thursday denied any links to controversy stricken data firm Cambridge Analytica (CA).

Amrish, who is the son of Janata Dal (United) KC Tyagi, said that his firm was never associated with CA and Any work of any nature, if any, undertaken by CA cannot be read against OBI.

"OBI was never associated with Cambridge Analytica (CA). Any work of any nature, if any, undertaken by CA cannot be read against OBI. We would like to make it clear that OBI was never associated with CA," Tyagi said.

He further said that his company came into existence in 2010, "At the time of its incorporation neither of its directors had undertaken any work of political nature."

Amrish's statement comes a day after his father KC Tyagi rejected the allegations against his party's links to SCL India (formerly Strategic Communication Laboratories, the parent company of Cambridge Analytica).

The whistleblower in the Facebook Cambridge Analytica case, Christopher Wylie, on Wednesday tweeted details that claim to expose the British consultancy's work in India dating back to 2003. Wylie claimed that SCL India was asked to provide electoral research and strategy for the 2010 Bihar elections for the JD(U).

But JD(U) leader KC Tyagi rejected the allegation, saying his party does not believe in using data for electoral politics. "I have said this in the past. I repeat again that the JD(U) does not believe in such means. We fight elections the way it should be contested," he said.
