The world's highest railway station, Tanggula, is located in Amdo County, Tibet Autonomous Region, near the border of Tanggula town in China's Qinghai province. It has three tracks, including one main platform and a very small platform. It is situated over half a mile from the highest point of the railway track, which reaches around 16,640 feet.
