The BJP, which returned to power in Delhi after 27 years, swept away the AAP from the national capital. The saffron party won 48 seats to extend its saffron footprint in the country. But, the biggest highlights of the poll were shocking setbacks to top leaders. Here is a list of unexpected defeats.

The second biggest twist was the defeat of former Delhi deputy chief minister and one of the most prominent leaders in AAP, Manish Sisodia, who lost at the hands of BJP's Tarvinder Singh Marwah by 675 votes in Jangpura. A three-time MLA from east Delhi's Patparganj had switched to Jangpura.

The next name is former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain, who remained in the news after being arrested in a money laundering case in 2022. BJP candidate Karnail Singh defeated him by 20,998 votes from the Shakur Basti constituency.

Durgesh Pathak, one of the most prominent leaders in AAP, lost by 1231 votes from the Rajinder Nagar seat. BJP's Umang Bajaj defeated him with a margin of 1,231 votes.
