Renu Dhariyal, India: Renu Dhariyal from Uttarakhand has claimed the Guinness title for the longest hair on a living person (female), after her hair measured 271.50 cm (8 ft 10 in) in Haldwani on 15 April 2026. She surpassed Aliia Nasyrova's previous measurement and has been growing her hair since 2015.

Xie Qiuping, China: Xie Qiuping holds the Guinness record for the longest hair on a person ever (female), with her hair measuring 5.627 m (18 ft 5.54 in). She began growing her hair in 1973 at the age of 13, and her hair was measured on 8 May 2004.

Aliia Nasyrova, Ukraine: Aliia Nasyrova from Ukraine took the Guinness title for the longest hair on a living person (female) in 2024, with her hair measuring 257.33 cm (8 ft 5.3 in). Known as a real-life Rapunzel, she held the title until Renu Dhariyal surpassed her measurement in 2026.

Smita Srivastava, India: Smita Srivastava from Uttar Pradesh claimed the Guinness title for the longest hair on a living person (female) in 2023, when her hair measured 236.22 cm (7 ft 9 in). She had been growing her hair since the age of 14 before Aliia Nasyrova surpassed her measurement the following year.

Nilanshi Patel, India: Gujarat's Nilanshi Patel set the Guinness record for the longest hair ever on a teenager (female) after her hair reached 200 cm (6 ft 6.7 in) in July 2020. She had been growing it since she was six and broke the teenager record three times before turning 18.

Keito Kawahara, Japan: Japanese teenager Keito Kawahara entered the Guinness World Records in 2018 after growing her hair to 155.5 cm (5 ft 1.22 in), earning the title for the longest hair on a teenager (female). She had never had a haircut and said she originally grew her hair to cover a scar on her head. She held the title until turning 18 and had her first haircut in 2019.

Asha Mandela, USA: Asha Mandela of the USA holds the Guinness record for the longest locks (locs) on a living person, with her locs measuring 5.96 m (19 ft 6.5 in) when verified in New York in 2009. Guinness says she had been growing them for more than 40 years by 2022, while her own bio later put their length at 33.5 m.
