As per reports by Live Hindustan, the Vande Bharat Express will run from Meerut to Varanasi and it will stop at Lucknow and Ayodhya between Meerut and Varanasi. The reports further stated that the operation of the Vande Bharat Express will start from August 25.

As per the report, Rajya Sabha MP Dr Laxmikant Bajpai in Rajya Sabha said that the update has been received from the Ministry of Railways and on the instructions of Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, the new route has been decided as Meerut-Lucknow-Ayodhya-Varanasi.

Earlier, the Ministry of Railways admitted that the operation of Meerut-Lucknow Vande Bharat was not economically beneficial. Regarding this, a demand was made that if Meerut-Lucknow Vande Bharat will run via Lucknow-Ayodhya to Varanasi, it will be economically beneficial.
