'Steel Man of India' breaks another world record by holding 261 kg hercules pillars | PHOTOS
Indian martial artist Vispy Kharadi, popularly known as the 'Steel Man of India,' has once again amazed the world by setting a new Guinness World Record.
Renowned Indian martial artist Vipsi Kharadi showcased his incredible strength at the Attari border in Punjab recently, setting yet another Guinness World Record. Known as 'India's Steel Man,' Vipsi broke the record for holding the heaviest Hercules pillars (men's category).

He successfully held 261 kg in the Hercules Pillars challenge, creating a record for the heaviest weight held in this category by a male. He held two massive pillars for 1 minute and 7 seconds. Each pillar weighed 261 kilograms (575.4 pounds). The weight of each pillar was around half that of a polar bear.

Thousands of spectators cheered as Vispy stood tall on a raised platform, gripping the massive pillars with chains. The atmosphere turned electric as he held his ground with sheer determination. When the time was up, he carefully lowered the pillars, his face beaming with pride. According to Guinness World Records, the massive pillars had to be placed into position by several men before Vispy took over.

Sharing this achievement with his over 200,000 Instagram followers, Vipsi wrote, "This record is dedicated to the armed forces of India who protect us." He also thanked his mentors, Shihan and Hanshi, whose guidance helped him achieve this feat. This is Vipsi's 17th Guinness World Record.

It was the 17th time Vispy has claimed a Guinness World Records title, and he thanked his mentors Shihan and Hanshi for their "constant support". Earlier, in November 2024, he set the record for holding Hercules pillars for the longest time, holding pillars weighing 166.7 kg and 168.9 kg for 2 minutes and 10.75 seconds.

In October 2019, he set the record for bending the most iron rods with his neck in one minute, bending 21 rods. This record still stands. Furthermore, on October 4, 2022, he set two records in a single day: the record for breaking the heaviest concrete block on a bed of nails (528 kg) and the record for breaking the most concrete blocks with his elbow in one minute (64 blocks).
