India’s first private railway station in India is Rani Kamalapati Railway Station, formerly known as Habibganj Railway Station. Located in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, this railway station was redeveloped under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
Rani Kamlapati Railway Station, earlier known as Habibganj Railway Station, is India’s first railway station redeveloped and operated under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The project was undertaken by the Bansal Group in collaboration with the Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation (IRSDC).

Inaugurated by PM Modi on November 15, 2021, this private railway station was renamed in honor of Gond queen Rani Kamlapati, and the station code changed from HBJ to RKMP.

Rani Kamlapati Station has been transformed to deliver an airport-like experience. Passengers now can enjoy a spacious concourse and modern waiting lounge, energy-efficient infrastructure with solar panels. Passengers can also enjoy high-tech security and surveillance systems along with food courts and branded retail outlets.
