Atishi to Rekha Gupta: Of 96, only these 5 women candidates won Delhi Elections 2025
Delhi Assembly Election 2025 witnessed the highest number of women candidates. However, of the total 96 female candidate, only five could win the election, down from eight in the 2020 elections. From AAP, only female candidate to win is Atishi, remaining four are from BJP. Check complete list here.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) swept the Delhi polls, dethroning the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). This election was notable for recording the highest participation of women since 1972. With only five women elected in 2025, the share of women representation in the Delhi assembly has been reduced to 7.1 per cent.

Of the total 699 candidates in the fray this time, 96 were women. Among the three key political parties in the elections, the BJP and AAP had fielded nine women candidates each whereas the Congress had seven women nominees.

Atishi: Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has managed to hold on to south Delhi's Kalkaji seat despite the BJP's massive victory in the national capital. She defeated BJP's former MP Ramesh Bidhuri and the Congress's Alka Lamba.

Rekha Gupta: BJP's Rekha Gupta secured victory in Shalimar Bagh with 68,200 votes. She defeated AAP's Bandana Kumari by a margin of 29,595 votes, according to the Election Commission (EC) of India. Congress' Parveen Kumar Jain was at third spot.

BJP's Shikha Roy defeated Aam Aadmi Party's senior leader Saurabh Bharadwaj. She won by a margin of 3,188 votes, according to Election Commission of India. An advocate by profession, Shikha has done masters in arts (MA) from the government college in Ludhiana, Punjab University, and LLB from Department of Law, PU, Chandigarh.

Poonam Sharma: BJP candidate Poonam Sharma won with 11,425 votes in Wazirpur constituency, defeating his nearest rival, AAP candidate Rajesh Gupta.

Neelam Pahalwan: As per the ECI data, BJP's Neelam Pahalwan secured 1,01,708 votes securing a winning lead of 29,009 against AAP's Tarun Kumar. Congress candidate Sushma Devi Yadav is a distant third with a mere 2902 votes. Reacting to her win, Pahalwan termed it a "victory of development".
