Dhakis are one of the main highlights of Durga Puja in Kolkata. The enthusiastic drum beats not only imbibe the festive spirit but is also a family business and tradition for many. Before the covid 19 pandemic, the Dhakis could easily earn above Rs 20k. But from last year, the rates for Dhakis were badly hit.

For Sen families- Madhab Sen, Amlan Sen, playing dhaks is their family business. Their father Haripada Sen started it in 1975. Madhab, Amlan, and their brothers are playing dhaks since 2010.
