Cincinnati: A man accused of plotting to attack the U.S. Capitol says in an interview that if he hadn't been arrested, he would've gone to Washington and put a gun to President Barack Obama's head.
WXIX-TV in Cincinnati says Christopher Lee Cornell called the station, confessed to being a supporter of the Islamic State group and said he planned to kill government officials in retaliation for U.S. strikes on the Islamic militant organization.
In an excerpt of the 60-minute interview broadcast Friday evening, the 20-year-old Cincinnati man said he would have shot the president in the head before going after members of Congress.
Cornell's attorneys had gone to court to try to stop the station from airing the interview. A judge ruled in the station's favor earlier Friday.
