New York: The U.S. government is seeking to use letters recovered in the raid that killed Osama bin Laden in a terrorism trial in New York.

Prosecutors have filed papers in Manhattan federal court seeking to use the letters to boost their case against Abu Anas al-Libi. Al-Libi was snatched off the streets of the Libyan capital, Tripoli, in October 2013.

He has pleaded not guilty to charges he conspired in the 1998 bombings of two U.S. embassies in Africa that killed 224 people.

The government wants to show jurors six letters recovered from bin Laden's Pakistan compound. The letters are dated between June 2010 and April 2011.

Prosecutors say the letters, including two al-Libi wrote, prove his continued participation in al-Qaida. His lawyer did not immediately return a message for comment.
