Cleveland, Jul 18: The prosecution has rested its case in the trial of a Cleveland man charged with killing 11 women and dumping their remains around his house and yard.

The final witness for the state was homicide Detective Lem Griffin. He participated in the interrogation of 51-year-old defendant Anthony Sowell. The interrogation was videotaped and shown to the jury over three days through Monday morning.

After the prosecution rested, the judge sent jurors home and told them to return Tuesday morning for the start of Sowell's defense.Sowell has pleaded not guilty and could face the death penalty if convicted. The women vanished one by one through September 2009, the month before Sowell's arrest. Police say they were lured with drugs and alcohol. AP
