The romantic rendition by late singer Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle from 1982 film 'Yeh Vaada Raha' featured Rishi Kapoor and Poonam Dhillon as a madly-in-love couple.

Rishi Kapoor too couldn't contain his excitement and said that he was honoured. He also posted a video of the original version of the song on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Asha Bhosle too expressed happiness over the song being chosen out of the many popular Hindi songs.

"I am both surprised and happy that my song was liked by people who don't understand our language," Bhosle said.

"Out of many popular Hindi songs,“Tu hai wahi' was selected to be played for PM in China. I would definitely like to know what Modi ji felt about it," she added.

Earlier on Friday, Xi Jinping welcomed PM Modi warmly and hosted a grand welcome ceremony for him at the Hubei Provincial Museum in Wuhan.
