Islamabad: In a clear indication of Pakistan’s support to terrorists, Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin was seen at Pak Parliament where he met a prominent political leader of Pakistan to discuss Kashmir issue.

After a meeting with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) President Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Salahuddin later addressed the media where he sought support from different quarters on Kashmir issue.

“Over 7.5 lakh personnel of Indian security forces are trying to suppress the voice of defenceless Kashmiri people. Today, people from every corner in Kashmir are protesting against India, in support of freedom and Pakistan,” Salauddin, who also serves as the head of United Jihad Council, said.

“We have come here to seek support of government, diplomats and media through Maulana sahab (Maulana Fazlur Rehman), to stand behind defenceless Kashmiri people and expose India’s oppression,” India’s most wanted terrorist said.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman, who is also the Chairman of Special Committee of Pakistan’s Parliament on Kashmir, today met Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Lahore to discuss Kashmir issue.

“Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman apprised the Prime Minister on his recent talks with the Kashmiri leadership over the human rights violations by Indian military and paramilitary forces in Jammu & Kashmir. The meeting reiterated the condemnation of the killing of Kashmiri leader Burhan Wani and many other civilians by the Indian military and paramilitary forces,” a press release by Pakistan Prime Minister’s office said.

“Nawaz Sharif said that the government and people of Pakistan respect the sentiments of their Kashmiri brethren and will continue to support the Kashmir cause at each and every forum internationally come what may. The Prime Minister said that the voice and struggle of the people of Kashmir cannot be suppressed through use of brutal force and human rights abuses,” it said.

“The resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute is only possible by the realisation of the right to self-determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, as per the UNSC resolutions, through a fair and impartial plebiscite under UN auspices,” Sharif said.

Nawaz Sharif has convened a special cabinet meeting in Lahore on Friday to discuss the situation in violence-hit Kashmir and chalk out “future course of action” on the issue.

“The cabinet will discuss the oppressive actions of Indian security forces against innocent civilians and the over all situation in Kashmir after the brutal assassination of Burhan Wani,” the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.

The statement noted that on the directions of the Prime Minister, the foreign office summoned Indian high commissioner and conveyed “strong concerns of the Pakistani government and people on rapidly deteriorating human rights situation in Kashmir and increasing oppression by Indian security forces.”

The statement said that a detailed briefing was also given to ambassadors of all permanent members of UN security council of UN “regarding atrocities of the security forces.”

India had asked Pakistan to refrain from interfering in its internal affairs after Sharif issued a statement expressing “shock” at the killing of Hizbul militant Burhan Wani.
