It is not the first incident of such an assault in Nice. Two years ago, a bakery was vandalized after its owner was considered a “bad Muslim” for selling food containing pork. However, amid the current unprecedented refugee crisis, such incidents may provoke a harsher reaction both from the public and from the authorities. Tensions are running high in France and across Europe.
