Mumbai, July 19: Customs officers at Mumbai International Airport on Sunday night were stunned to find sex toys, vibrators and kinky lingerie in the baggae of a 50-year-old woman passenger coming from the US, reports Mumbai Mirror.A search for undeclared gold in the woman's baggage revealed kinky lingerie and sex toys, the report said.
A team of officers headed by Assistant Commissioner Sameer Wankhede intercepted 50-year-old Bachhu Ali, an executive of a US-based production house, who was suspected of carrying undeclared gold ornaments,as she walked through the Green Channel.
On searching Bacchu Ali's baggage, along with gold ornaments worth Rs 6.5 lakh ,the officers stumbled upon kinky lingerie and sex toys.
According to the officers, Ali was carrying gadgets like vibrators and feather sex toys.
The woman, officers said, was totally unruffled and at ease as she explained that sex toys are not illegal in other countries.The woman was surprisingly confident as she said she wasnt aware about a ban on sex toys in India.
"We hesitated to question her about the stuff, but she was very comfortable while explaining the use of the toys", said a Custom officer.
That was not all. The officers were further surprised when Ali explained that she had brought the toys for her daughter who is to wed on July 28.
Ali was to stay at a city hotel and later leave for south India for her daughter's wedding. She had flown in on a Singapore Airlines flight.
Ali was carrying sex toys and lingerie worth Rs 60,000 and gold ornaments worth Rs 6.5 lakh, besides other undeclared goods.
The total amount of undeclared goods she had was estimated at Rs 10 lakh.She was booked under the Customs Act and the case was handed over to the Air Intelligence Unit.
"We have booked Ali for carrying undeclared goods worth Rs 10 lakh. When stopped she said she was carrying things for her daughter whose wedding she had come to attend", said Additional Commissioner, Customs, Mahindra Pal.
