New Delhi:

India's most wanted terrorists Abu Jundal, Hafiz Muhammed Jameel, Yusuf Azhar, Abu Akasha and Mohammad Hassan Khan were among the five terrorist killed in Indian strikes on terror launch pads in Pakistan's Muridke, the headquarters and training camp of Lashkar-e-Taiba, under Operation Sindoor on May 7 in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22.

The terrorists who were killed included Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad commanders operating from Pakistan and conspiring to commit terrorist acts against India.

These are the 5 terrorists killed in Operation Sindoor:

  1. Mudassar Khadian Khas, also known as Mudassar or Abu Jundal, was affiliated with Lashkar-e-Taiba. His funeral prayers were held at a government school and led by Hafiz Abdul Rauf of Jamaat-ud-Dawa, a UN-designated global terrorist. Notably, a serving Lieutenant General of the Pakistan Army and the Inspector General of Punjab Police were present at the ceremony.

  2. Hafiz Muhammed Jameel was affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed and was the eldest brother-in-law of Jaish chief Maulana Masood Azhar.

  3. Mohammad Yusuf Azhar, also known as Ustad Ji, Mohd Salim, or Ghosi Sahab, was a senior member of Jaish-e-Mohammed and also Maulana Masood Azhar’s brother-in-law. He was wanted for his involvement in the IC-814 Indian Airlines hijacking case.

  4. Khalid, also known as Abu Akasha, belonged to Lashkar-e-Taiba. He played a key role in multiple terrorist operations in Jammu & Kashmir and was involved in smuggling weapons from Afghanistan. His funeral in Faisalabad was attended by senior Pakistani Army officials and the Deputy Commissioner of Faisalabad.

  5. Mohammad Hassan Khan, affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed, was the son of Mufti Asghar Khan Kashmiri, the operational commander of JeM in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. He was instrumental in coordinating terror attacks in Jammu & Kashmir.

Pakistan army officers attend terrorists' funeral

Images of senior Pakistani military officers attending the funerals of known terrorists have gone viral, once again exposing the longstanding nexus between Pakistan’s armed forces and terror outfits. Among them was the funeral of Mudassar Khadian Khas, which was led by Hafiz Abdul Rauf, a UN-designated global terrorist, and held at a government school.

Khas was given a guard of honour by the Pakistan Army, with senior military officers laying wreaths on behalf of Army Chief General Asim Munir and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. Attendees included a serving Lieutenant General and the Inspector General of Punjab Police, further highlighting the state's direct involvement.

Notably, Ajmal Kasab, the lone surviving terrorist from the 2008 Mumbai attacks, had confessed to receiving training at the Muridke camp associated with Khas. David Headley, another key conspirator in the 26/11 attacks, also reportedly trained at this location.
