New Delhi: In a good news for already-indebt Indian Railways, the total approximate earnings on originating basis during 1st April 2014 to 31st July 2014 is Rs 49026.31 crore as compared to Rs. 44264.23 crore during the same period last year, registering an increase of 10.76 per cent.
Here is the detailed list of categorized revenue earnings of Indian Railways:
1. Goods: The total approximate earnings from goods during 1st April 2014 – 31st July 2014 were Rs. 33040.22 core compared to Rs. 30516.04 crore during the same period last year, registering an increase of 8.27 per cent.
2. Passengers: The total approximate revenue earnings during 1st April 2014 – 31st July 2014 were Rs. 13748.05 crore compared to Rs. 11631.27 crore during the same period last year, registering an increase of 18.20 percent.
3. Other Coaching: The approximate revenue earnings amounted to Rs1328.50 crore during April 2014 – July 2014 compared to Rs. 1267.21 crore during the same period last year, registering an increase of 4.84 per cent.
The total approximate numbers of passengers booked during 1st April 2014 – 31st July 2014 were 2898.02 million compared to 2811.20 million during the same period last year, showing an increase of 3.09 per cent.
In the suburban and non-suburban sectors, the numbers of passengers booked during April 2014 - July 2014 were 1577.34 million and 1320.68 million compared to 1495.98 million and 1315.22 million registering an increase of 5.44 per cent and 0.42 per cent respectively during the same period last year.
