A newly surfaced video has shed light on the tragic Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, capturing the horrifying moments just after take-off on Thursday. The footage, recorded by a security camera at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, shows flight AI-171 accelerating down the runway, lifting off, and then crashing shortly afterwards. The visuals depict the aircraft struggling in the air moments after departure before disappearing from view. Seconds later, thick plumes of black smoke are seen billowing from the crash site. According to senior police officials, the aircraft crashed into a doctor's hostel located just outside the airport perimeter.

Indian Army deployed to assist civil administration
Following the incident, Indian Army teams comprising of approximately 130 personnel were deployed to assist civil administration in the ongoing Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) efforts, officials said. The response teams includes engineers with earth movers for debris clearance, medical teams comprising doctors and paramedics, Quick Action Teams (QATs), fire-fighting assets with fire extinguishers and water bowsers, and provost staff for site management, a statement from the Indian Army said.
Former Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani killed
One survivor has been found in the deadly crash of an Air India plane carrying 242 people, after it rammed into a nearby doctors' hostel shortly after taking off from the Ahmedabad airport, a senior police officer said. Vijay Rupani, who served as the 16th Chief Minister of Gujarat, is among more than 200 people who died in the tragic incident. The e-ticket of Vijay Rupani also went viral on social media. It shows that he was scheduled to return from London to Ahmedabad on June 30. Union Minister and Gujarat BJP president, CR Patil, confirmed the death of the former CM, informing that he was going to London to meet his family.

It should be noted here that an Air India plane AI-171 from Ahmedabad to London crashed near the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Ahmedabad airport during takeoff on Thursday. The flight was carrying a total of 230 passengers and 12 crew members. The Air India flight was a Boeing 787-8 twin jet. According to the Police Control room, the Air India Flight AI 171 was bound for London. Thick plumes of smoke were seen at the accident spot, and fire tenders rushed to the spot. As per the information, the plane was carrying 169 Indian nationals, 53 are British nationals, 1 Canadian national and 7 Portuguese nationals.
