New Delhi, Jan 26: The latest third round of opinion poll conducted by C-Voter for India TV projects hung assemblies in Uttar Pradesh, Goa and Manipur, while the Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP combine is projected ahead of Congress in Punjab, and the Congress appears to be ahead of the ruling BJP in Uttarakhand.
The opinion poll results telecast on Wednesday night gave the following projections:
Uttar Pradesh :
BSP 139-147 seats, Samajwadi Party 134-142, BJP 44-52, Congress-RLD 52-60, BJP 44-52 and Others 14-22 seats.
Uttarakhand:
Congress 34-38, BJP 20-24, BSP 6-10 and Others 3-5 seats.
Punjab :
SAD-BJP 64-72, Congress 43-47, PPP 1-3, Others 3-5 seats.
Goa :
BJP 16-18, Congress 13-15, NCP 1-3, Others 6-8 seats.
Manipur :
Congress 19-23, Manipur People's Party 14-18, BJP 2-5, Others including Independents 18-22 seats.
UTTARAKHAND:
The opinion poll survey showed, 60 per cent of the respondents in Uttarakhand said, projecting B C Khanduri as the chief ministerial candidate would help the party, but 30 pc disagreed.
54 pc of the respondents in Uttarakhand agreed that the Congress high command made a mistake in NOT projecting Harish Rawat as its chief ministerial candidate, but 34 per cent disagreed.
C-Voter chief Yashwant Deshmukh said, Congress in Uttarakhand appears to be getting 4 pc more votes this time, with 34 pc voters opting for the Grand Old Party. BJP's vote share has fallen by 2 pc to a mere 30 pc.
PUNJAB :
The Shiromani Akali Dal-BJP appears to have regained much of its ground in Punjab, particularly in the politically dominant Malwa region, says the survey.
Out of 27 seats in Majha region, SAD-BJP is projected to get 15 and the Congress 12 seats, says the survey.
Out of the 64 seats in Malwa region, SAD-BJP is projected to get 40 and the Congress 24 seats, says the survey.
Out of the 26 seats of Doab region, SAD-BJP is projected to get 13, Congress only 9 and the rest four seats to others, says the opinion poll.
Infighting in Punjab Congress is costing the party heavily. 44 pc of the respondents said Congress will suffer from infighting, while 30 pc said SAD will lose from infighting.
Among the farmers, 49 pc of the respondents opted for SAD, while 31 pc for Congress.
UTTAR PRADESH:
Coming to the politically sensitive state of Uttar Pradesh, the C-Voter-India TV opinion poll survey projects seats across different regions.
Out of 114 seats in Poorvanchal region, BSP may get 41, SP 42, Cong 11, BJP 13 and others seven seats.
Out of 52 seats in Ruhelkhand region, BSP is projected to get 16, SP 17, Cong-RLD 8, BJP 8 and others three seats.
Out of 76 seats in Harit Pradesh, BSP is projected to get 30, SP 20, Cong-RLD 14, BJP 9 and others three seats.
Out of 136 seats of Avadh region, BSP is projected to get 45, SP 52, Cong-RLD 20, BJP 15 and others four seats.
Out of 25 seats in Bundelkhand region, BSP is projected to get 11, SP 7, Congress-RLD 3, BJP 3 and others one seat.
50 per cent of the respondents said, EC decision to cover up the elephant statues will help the BSP while 39 pc disagreed.
On their preference for young leaders, 43 pc respondents favoured Rahul Gandhi, 26 pc Akhilesh Yadav, 14 pc Varun Gandhi, eight pc Yogi Adityanath, 2 pc Jitin Prasad and 8 pc said 'don't know'.
