    UP: Two boys die after bricks fall on them

    Two boys, aged 8 and 10, died after a stack of bricks kept on the roadside fell on them in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh, police said on Monday. The incident took place in Nakhasa area of the district Sunday evening.

    Lucky (8) and Vishesh (10) suffered injuries and were rushed to a hospital where they died, Nakhasa police station SHO Omkar Singh said.

    The police is probing the matter and an FIR has been registered against Chandra Sen based on a complaint filed by the boys' family.

    Himachal Pradesh: Three tourists from Mumbai die in Kinnaur due to bad weather

    Three tourists from Mumbai died in Himachal Pradesh's Kinnaur district on Sunday due to snowfall and extremely bad weather conditions. The deceased have been identified as Deepak Narayan (58), Rajender Pathak (65) and Ashok Madhukar (64).

    Thirteen tourists -- 12 from Mumbai and one from Delhi -- were going to Sangla in Kinnaur from Janglik in Shimla via Barua Kanda. Three of them died, while the remaining 10 are stranded, Kinnaur Deputy Commissioner Apoorva Devgan said. A police team has been sent to Barua Kanda to rescue the stranded tourists, he said.

    Assam logs 139 fresh COVID-19 cases, tally rises to 6,08,589

    Assam reported 139 fresh COVID-19 on Sunday, lower than its five-day streak of over 300 single-day infections, a bulletin issued by the National Health Mission said. The state’s caseload mounted to 6,08,589 with the new cases detected out of 19,713 samples, even as five more coronavirus deaths were registered, it said.
    Assam now has 2,510 active cases, and 5,98,759 patients have so far recovered from the disease, including 244 since Saturday. Meanwhile, the northeastern state has administered COVID-19 vaccines to 2,71,12,132 people, the bulletin added.
