    Bengaluru Crime Branch busts racket selling fake degree certificates, one held

     A man was arrested for selling fake university degree certificates for the past many years, the Central Crime Branch of Bengaluru said.

    As many as 6,800 fake certificates of 15 universities, 22 laptops, computers and 13 mobile phones were seized from the man, the CCB said in a statement here on Friday.

    Russian shelling killed at least 10 Ukrainian civilians and wounded 20 others in a day, the office of Ukraine's president reported Friday as the country worked to recover from an earlier wave of Russian missile strikes and drone attacks. The new casualties included the deaths of at least two civilians in the southern city of Kherson, which Ukrainian troops recaptured in November, and two more in eastern Ukraine's Donetsk province.
    The missiles and self-propelled drones Russian forces fired Thursday hit deeper into Ukrainian territory, killing at least 11 people.

    UK student nurse charged with taking bomb to maternity ward

    A student nurse appeared in a British court on Friday, charged with planning to attack an air force base and taking a home-made bomb to a hospital maternity unit where he worked. Mohammad Farooq, 27, was arrested outside St.James's University Hospital in Leeds, northern England, on January 20 with what prosecutors say was a “viable” pressure-cooker bomb containing 13.7 kilograms (30 pounds) of a homemade low-explosive mixture.

    A man armed with a Kalashnikov-style rifle stormed the Azerbaijan Embassy in Iran's capital Friday, killing the head of security at the diplomatic post and wounding two guards, authorities said.
