    Bengal board's class 12 exam results to be out on July 22

    The class 12 examination result of the West Bengal board will be published on July 22, the body that conducts the test said on Tuesday.

    The Higher Secondary (class 12) examination was not held this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation and an evaluation method has been worked out based on marks obtained by an examinee in the Madhyamik (class 10 board exam) and class 11 annual test.

    Assam govt allows recruitment and entrance tests

    The Assam government on Tuesday allowed the recruitment and entrance examinations for higher education to be conducted with certain conditions.

    The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) issued an order stating that recruitment and entrance examinations for higher education are permitted across the state with strict adherence to maintenance of coronavirus protocols,including observance of COVID appropriate behaviour by all concerned.

    Deuba appointed new Nepal PM

    Nepal President Bidhya Devi Bhandari on Tuesday appointed Sher Bahadur Deuba, leader of the opposition Nepali Congress party, as the country's new Prime Minister.

    The development came a day after the Supreme Court overturned former Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli's decision to dissolve Parliament and directed Bhandari to appoint Deuba as the Prime Minister.

    Sensex rallies 397 points; Nifty ends above 15,800

    Equity benchmark Sensex rallied over 397 points on Tuesday, tracking gains in index majors ICICI Bank, HDFC twins and Reliance Industries amid positive domestic as well as global cues.

    The 30-share BSE index ended 397.04 points or 0.76 per cent higher at 52,769.73, and the broader NSE Nifty surged 119.75 points or 0.76 per cent to 15,812.35.

    ICICI Bank was the top gainer in the Sensex pack, surging nearly 3 per cent, followed by HDFC, Axis Bank, Sun Pharma, NTPC and M&M. On the other hand, HCL Tech, Dr Reddy’s, Maruti and Tech Mahindra were among the laggards.
