Nitish Kumar reaches Raj Bhawan to meet Governor

Soon after Bihar CM Nitish Kumar will meet Governor Phagu Chauhan, BJP will convene another core group meeting at 6 pm.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav rained down heavily on BJP during the meeting of the Grand Alliance. He said, "After Bihar, change of power is needed in Delhi."

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar told JD(U) leaders today that BJP was insulting them. His statement came not so long after an official announcement was made at the JD(U) MLAs meeting that the NDA alliance in Bihar will come to an end.

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar will meet Governor Phagu Chauhan at 4 pm, after which another round of Mahagatbandhan meeting led by RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav is likely, said sources. This meeting may take place at 5 pm.

The JD(U)-BJP alliance is officially coming to an end, it was announced during the meeting of JD(U) MLAs that took place in Patna. CM Nitish Kumar will meet Governor Phagu Chauhan at 4 pm.

Bihar CM Nitish Kumar is likely to meet Governor Phagu Chauhan at 4 pm amid intense political activity in Bihar, reported news agency PTI.

The BJP leaders meeting held at residence of Bihar Deputy CM Tarkishor Prasad's residence has come to an end. As per reports, BJP leaders are waiting for Nitish Kumar on whether he will resign or not. Based on that, BJP will make its next move. 

The BJP also held a meeting of its top leaders at Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishor Prasad's residence, while the parallel meetings of JD(U) and RJD were going on.

Congress leader Tariq Anwar has claimed that Bihar CM Nitish Kumar will resign from his post, after his meeting with Governor Phagu Chauhan at 12:30 pm. After this, a discussion will take place among all parties. The discussion will decide whether Kumar will retain his post as CM or not.

Some JD(U) leaders and BJP leaders sought time from Bihar governor Phagu Chauhan, said sources. They might resign from the Bihar cabinet.

Amid speculations of a rift in the JD(U)-BJP alliance in the Bihar state government, parallel meetings were called by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar at his residence and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav at Lalu Prasad Yadav's residence in Patna. Leaders of both parties arrived in Patna, and both meetings began at 11 am. 

“Our party had held many such meetings of MPs and MLAs in the past. We have been told that the current meeting has been called to discuss organisational matters. Never heard about any major crisis in the NDA," said Ram Nath Thakur, a Rajya Sabha member, low key but known to enjoy proximity to the chief minister by virtue of being the son of late Karpoori Thakur, the latter's political mentor.

Members of both houses of Parliament and state legislature, belonging to Bihar CM Nitish Kumar’s JD(U), have converged to attend a meeting at his official residence, amid speculations of a major political move by the veteran leader, senior party functionaries said. The meeting is scheduled to commence at 11 AM.

JD(U) MLC Kumud Verma arrived for the JD(U) meeting at Bihar CM Nitish Kumar's residence. Talking to reporters, she said, "Our meeting is on the issue of Census...Everything is alright...We are happy (when asked if JDU is not happy in alliance with BJP in the state)."

As per reports, mobile phones of all RJD MLAs and leaders who arrived at Lalu Prasad Yadav's residence were collected outside. They have come for a meeting called by Tejashwi Yadav amid speculations of a split in NDA alliance in Bihar. The meeting will begin at 11 am.
